Financial Times Ranks Rice MBA Best in Texas
HOUSTON, January 31, 2007— Financial Times’ Global MBA 2007 has ranked Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management program the best in Texas. The survey also reported that the Jones School is ranked among the top ten business schools in the world for finance and among the top 30 U.S. business schools.
“We are very pleased with the rankings in this particular survey because many of the metrics are focused on issues of greatest interest to our stakeholders,” said Bill Glick, dean of the Jones Graduate School of Management and the H. Joe Nelson Professor of Management. “Students want to improve their careers, not just their starting salaries. Recruiters want to hire talented graduates who can earn promotions and raises.”
In salary averages three years after graduation, Rice MBA graduates ranked 20th nationally.
Dean Glick said of the report, “Although the survey highlights some of our achievements, we understand that the rankings are only a small indication of the quality of the school. Our positive movement on key metrics is one indication of our commitment to help our students achieve a better educational experience. We excel at developing principled, innovative thought leaders in global communities.”
