Rules and Regulations

  • With the exception of the Anderson Family Commons (the main dining hall), and the student and faculty commons, there is absolutely no food or drink inside the building
  • There is absolutely no smoking throughout the building
  • There are no reservation options for the student or faculty commons or any of the Executive Education classrooms and commons
  • For any non-Jones School events, there will be charges assessed for equipment usage and administrative purposes; these prices will vary, and a Jones School representative will contact you before the event for approval of charges
  • Any reservations needed for all non-Jones School events outside of McNair Hall building hours (Mon-Thur 7:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m., Fri 7:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Sat. 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., and Sun. 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.) will incur an added charge for security purposes
  • No materials of any kind, including signage, should be affixed to any part of the building without getting advanced permission from George Kanatas 713-348-5396 or kanatas@rice.edu
  • If your room reservation needs do not meet the guidelines mentioned above, your request cannot be processed

Notes about the RSS

  • Reservations can be made up to one year (365 days) in advance—no guarantee can be made for a reservation further in advance than one year—if you have any questions about booking a space beyond these time limitations, please contact Liz Tussey at: jgsrooms@rice.edu or 713-348-3372.
  • The system doesn't allow for a reservation to be made on the same day of the request
  • Only one room/date can be reserved at a time; if you need multiple rooms/dates, please use the link at the end of your first reservation to save the data you have already put in

If there is no difference between the time you need in the room and the time the event starts, please only fill out the setup and cleanup times.
